In the lead-up to the European Championships, Nike wanted to highlight a roster of star players, but as a non-sponsor, they couldn’t focus on official teams. Instead, they chose to showcase European stars alongside other players who embodied an irreverent, fearless style of play.
We crafted a campaign inspired by the South American chant of olé, typically heard when a player destroys an opponent. What better match than Brazil vs Portugal to bring together some of the world’s best players in one stadium? There’s even a very brief cameo of a young Cristiano Ronaldo, before he became a global icon with an airport named after him.
